The renovation of Estoril's chalet "Vila Ferreira" breathes new life into the historic structure, dating back to 1897. The project centered on a meticulous spatial reorganization of the ground floor and 1st floor, rectifying a century-old dysfunctional layout. Essential to this transformation was the establishment of visual axes through partial demolitions, seamlessly integrating light and functionality while preserving the building's core structure.
A pivotal element was the innovative staircase core, strategically positioned at the intersection of visual axes. This not only facilitated fluid movement between floors but also allowed for the introduction of natural light, a crucial feature given the limited light access on the ground floor.

The interiors embraced a light color palette, reflecting an abundance of natural light and emphasizing the decorative elements. Flooring choices played a crucial role in defining distinct atmospheres, with a light gray microcement finish on the ground floor and traditional wooden flooring on the 1st floor.

The introduction of contemporary elements, from a granite-covered kitchen island to a mirror-surfaced fireplace wall, added a modern identity to the space. The bathrooms, designed with Lioz, a traditional Portuguese stone, showcased a harmonious blend of modernity and elegance.

Ultimately, the project achieved a modern reinterpretation of the traditional villa, transforming it into a luminous, open, and comfortable space that seamlessly integrates historical charm with contemporary living.
