Originally built as a miner’s cabin in the 1890s, this home went through seven remodels and was added onto several times over the last century. Each time, the original structure’s footprint was obscured. We worked closely and collaboratively with the client from schematic through construction and careful considerations for each space led to an efficient floor plan that maximized every square inch of the home. with 7 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, this home serves as an inspiring gathering place for family in Aspen. Being a Victorian, it was important to keep traditional forms, while creating an open, airy feeling. this concept was achieved in the living room, which opens up to a patio and fire pit with a 9’ wide wall of glass, a cathedral staircase ceiling with a geometric divider screen, and an open concept kitchen design.
