The Madison

Our team at Baywood Estate Homes would to share our latest inner city custom modern infill build. We are a small low volume custom design and build firm located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We produce 2-3 in-house designed custom homes per year. All of our designs are created using our 4 main values of imagination, design, innovation and creation. All of our designs are only produced once and are as unique as the lots that they are built on.

Our latest modern build named “The Madison” was named after the companie’s founders daughter who at 13 years old shares the same values of design and creativity. “The Madison” is located in the inner city core of Calgary, Alberta. Local demographics used in the design were based off of a professional, middle aged, smaller family with a focus to occasional entertainment.

Our main floor layout was design focused towards an open feel, a large brick and glass wine feature wall, designer modern kitchen with horizontally opening upper cabinets further accentuated with Bertazonni appliances to pay homage to the traditionally Italian neighborhood.

The second floor features a 2 story light tunnel space topped with large skylights bringing the natural unobstructed light right thru the middle of the home to the main floor, master bedroom with a 2 story cathedral ceiling, master walk-in closet with a secret stair case up to a private office faced with large windows soaking the space with natural sunlight.

The third floor rear loft was built to showcase Calgary’s beautiful downtown skyline. Steel, solid wood treads and glass were the chosen materials in the custom modern stair cases to enhance the modern yet open feel.

The basement was designed to offer the family a private entertainment retreat space while complementing the homes open and airy theme.

I have attached a link to the entire photo shoot as well have attached some select pictures for your review. The build as all of our builds from design to completion took 1 year. The project has just been completed and has not been featured yet in any magazines or publications. We are avid readers of your magazine and in being so wanted to share our project with your team first.
