A breath of fresh design air, this custom two story home was designed with intention on its narrow but deep tree filled lot.
With a California Casual feel from its monochrome and neutral color palette it has definitive spaces for both indoor and exterior living. The courtyard sets the stage with green landscaping, gas lanterns and water fountain. With an open first floor plan, the kitchen is the heart of the home with a large brass dome pendant and a stunning French black range.
We created and designed mindful spaces that are elevated but also enjoyable. The island is perfect for cooking and entertaining and looks more like a furniture piece with a solid slab of natural Italian stone. Our floating desk space at our floor to ceiling window is now purposeful for studying and working but still tasteful to the eye.
We added warmth with organic wood tones, natural stone, brass accents and lots of natural light. We added personality and meaningful elements to design with using wallpaper from the hotel in which we got married at in our powder bath. The custom open shelving in our living room is to display our love for music and our vinyl collection, but also family photos and prideful kid art.
There is subtle consistency in thin vertical shiplap, flooring and counters are repurposed in many different ways like our foyer tile we also used as stair risers and the excess Italian stone from our kitchen we used in our powder bath - makes the overall feel of the home cohesive.
A vaulted ceiling, bedside sconces, additional bath storage and a custom closet make our owner’s suite the ultimate retreat at the end of a day.
