Representing the first newly constructed oceanfront home on the North Shore of Kauai in the past two decades, the Butterfly House is a rare estate with soaring roof lines. Listed by Ben Welborn and Tiffany Spencer of Hawaii Life, the home is located on over one-half acre. The unique design of this three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home captures views in two directions: the crystal-clear coral reef out front, with spectacular mountain and waterfall views behind. Just ten minutes from the famed beach town of Hanalei, the estate offers Bali Hai as your backyard along miles of golden sand just steps outside the back door.

Designed by Honolulu-based architect Deborah Rosenblum, AIA of Design / Create Space, the Butterfly House exudes natural light and earthy tones mixed with modern, sleek lines. Outfitted for everyday luxury and barefoot sophistication, the home features wide plank bleached oak floors, ipe decks, and a copper alloy metal roof. As you walk through the kitchen, you’ll be greeted by Wolf, Miele and SubZero appliances.

Featuring two primary suites, the home also features a soaking tub (with optional steam shower). Scheduled for completion at the end of 2022, the home boasts a signature winged roof that reaches up to the sky to engage the Wainiha ridgeline to the south and the 20-foot-high panoramic views of the ocean to the north.

Filled with quality craftsmanship at every corner, the home ushers its guests in with warm, natural materials and an airy beach ambiance. Rich hues complement the clean use of anodized charcoal windows blended with copper, bronze, and blackened steel accents. Lofty wall plates stretching 16 feet in height give provide ample volume. Wall-to-wall custom Fleetwood sliding doors create a seamless indoor-outdoor living area, making for ideal gatherings inside and out.
