I hope your week is going well at Dwell. This may be a project of a different kind, and could be of interest to you.
I was reading a book on the aspects of work-life balance and this line caught my attention - "there is no line between work and life",... work is life. Indeed I, and probably most of us humans, spend more time in the day at work than at home.
This is why I built a "work-life" space that is humanistic, holistic and simply serene for both my team and my patients.
In 2018 and 2019 I was in search of a space here in Baltimore, yet real estate was sparse as this city is undergoing a slow but steady boom.
A 2400 sq ft space on Bare Hills, resembling an empty aircraft hanger with concrete slab floor and cinder block walls was all I could find. But it was a blank canvas and had epic potential. So my contractor husband and I got to work, designing and building the space (see images below).
The idea was to create an androgenous space which had the potential to morph its vibe depending on the art on the walls. I am an artist as well and have found a way to merge art and science in one place.
There are many images which chronicle the construction during the covid 19 pandemic from start to finish - the good, the bad and the ugly!
Please let me know if you are interested in featuring this project - I would love to work with you. This project has not been featured yet anywhere
