A thoughtfully decorated and super relaxing condo in the middle of "Grønland" (Imagine a sort of Williamsburg / Dalston / Neuköln in Oslo). It's a literal stones throw away form the Norwegian capital's famed The Botanical Gardens. Featured in several interior magazines, the apartment is your perfect hideout for a work trip or vacation. Calm and serene, 11 feet ceilings, a balcony to a quiet Oslo backyard.. it's a place you must experience.

The Space
On the second floor of a building from 1878, this remodelled yet classical Oslo apartment is filled with design furniture and art. The Norwegian pine floors are treated with lye and then soaped, giving them their unique brightness and soft touch. The color scheme in the apartment is by local KOI Colour Studio. Even the Sonos soundsystem has vibrant colors, you'll find it in the living room, main bedroom and in the bathroom.

The living room centers around an oversized sofa area with thick moroccan rugs, Scandinavian design furniture and a wood burning stove. A large fig tree gives depth to the room as you relax under the "highest ceilings in Oslo".

The main bedroom has a double bed and a wall mounted 65” TV. It features a small walk in closet with plenty of space for your clothes. The bedroom gets dark, quiet and calm, and has direct access to a lush balcony with views to the trees in the quiet back yard, perfect for a morning cup of coffee or a work session on the laptop (In the summer!)

A lush green second bedroom with wooden venetian blinds and plenty of shelving provides yet another double bed.

Connected to the living room is a beautiful kitchen featuring a large induction stove, oven, two separate dish washers, toaster, kettle, coffee grinder and french press for making coffee. Oversized fridge with a separate freezer.

The History
The unique plaster details in the ceilings are from the building was new in the late eighteen hundreds. The wooden stove in the living room is from the same period. Back then the apartment was divided into three sections with a kitchen and a bedroom per family. All the buildings in this part of Oslo were built for the working class to rent, and the living conditions were primitive to say the least. The toilet was in the back yard, amongst the chicken and the horses. All the building were renovated in the late eighties and nineties to accommodate modern living standards, and this apartment was once again remodelled in 2020. Even if the color scheme seems modern today, it is actually far closer to the original colors used in the late eighteen hundreds in Oslo, rather than the whites we have gotten so used to today.
