The Joye & Sam Lifestyle Market is a comprehensive venue dedicated to food and drink, and encompasses specialized retail, snack bars, a wine cellar, high-end restaurants, and a nightclub. Located in the famous Shanghai French Concession district, it offers customers a wide array of culinary experiences in a large, open space composed of natural materials in a relaxed atmosphere.
The feeling of an outdoor market has been created on the Main Floor through the use of flexible booths, pop-up displays, movable retail shelves, and a mix of different types of seating arrangements, with spaces provided for afternoon tea, noodle-making, or the perusal of food products from around the world.
The large spiral staircase leading to the basement is structurally integrated with a bar counter below, forming the central visual element of the Lower Level. After landing at the end of the staircase, visitors are greeted by an impressive and curated space dedicated to wine: a collection of over 10,000 bottles from all over the world. Customers seated around the bar under the staircase have the opportunity to watch professional bartenders in action, while learning about the culture of wine.
A sumptuously elegant restaurant is also located at the basement level, whose modern aesthetic and visually striking red interior features a curved half-arch on the side wall, creating a cultivated atmosphere of sophistication. Rare glasses are dramatically back-lit within niches of the restaurant’s end wall, creating an illuminated grid of bright, crystal-like boxes.
Black terrazzo floor, cinnabar-red wall tiles, and red velvet drapes complete this immersive environment, offering a warm invitation to guests looking for a special place to enjoy a meal.
