The Cane Valley Studio Shed is a 16 ft x 30 ft studio/garage built on a poured concrete base, with a glass and aluminum garage door on one end. It features a glass front door, 2 casement windows with screens and 4 transom windows along one side. All doors/windows are double glazed, and walls/ceiling have added insulation to minimize heating/cooling costs. Construction commenced in October of 2017 and completed May 2018. The "Summit Series" structure was designed by "Studio Shed" in Louisville CO and delivered as a kit to my property near Chapel Hill, NC. I served as principal contractor and supervised all aspects of siting, site prep, and sub-contracting of concrete slab installation, structure construction/finishing, and electrical installation. The garage includes its own independent electrical panel, an 18,000 BTU 18 SEER mini split HVAC unit, and conduit for EV charging. All internal/external lighting is LED, totaling no more than 115 watts when all lighting is on. I use the space as a rehearsal and music production center, as well as a space to create/display my 2-3 dimensional art and photography.
