Brown Sugar Kitchen

Modern Metal, an Oakland based purveyor of decorative metal panels and grills, recently partnered with Oakland based designer Laura Martin Bouvard to design a set of custom metal panels for local Uptown restaurant Brown Sugar Kitchen. Kantor developed her “Morrocan” pattern which was inspired by Thirteenth Century tiles from the souks and mosques of Marrakech. This deceptively simple design was employed for stamp cut screens that create privacy screens for the restaurants’ semi-private seating area.
