BAIA, located in the heart of Shibuya, Tokyo, emerged as a distinctive presence in the cityscape like an unexpected cavern. Led by the accomplished architect Roy Nachum and the design team from supermaniac inc., including Akitoshi Imafuku and Lily Sugiyama, BAIA spans across five floors, each embodying the overarching theme of "a cave within the city."

The design philosophy behind BAIA centers on the belief that a minimalistic approach is key to capturing the enchanting and exotic ambiance of a cave. To bring this vision to life, we embraced a minimal design strategy, accentuated by emerald green lighting and mortar—an aesthetic choice that seamlessly blends with the modern cave concept. The carefully orchestrated lighting plan, featuring captivating emerald green lights, not only adds a touch of glamour to the space but also serves as a visual manifestation of the overarching design concept, creating a captivating "cave within the city" experience.
