Since debuting at London Fashion Week in 2005, Roksanda Ilinčić has become a powerhouse in the fashion world—and the London-based Serbian designer recently unveiled her latest project. Drawing upon her background in applied arts and architecture, Ilinčić has created an extravagant interior for The Penthouse at Gasholders London.

Situated in Kings Cross, Gasholders London is a unique development of 145 apartments set in industrial cast-iron gasholders that date back to 1867. Lending her unique aesthetic to a three-bedroom duplex in the complex, Roksanda establishes mise-en-scènes throughout the interior that are full of sculptural forms, textural depth, and unexpected color combinations.

For her first foray into commercial interior design and curation, Roksanda collaborated closely with Nick Vinson of Vinson & Co. on the penthouse design. As she selected furniture, art, ceramics, and other touches for the space, she also uncovered a deeper passion for design from a female perspective. In the end, many of the curated pieces were selected from a group of female makers and artists.

“As a former resident of Kings Cross, I know the Gasholders as an iconic landmark that captured my attention, one which I found particularly beautiful,” states Roksanda.

“To revisit a neighborhood so familiar to me and which now hosts Central Saint Martins—the institution that molded me as a designer—all felt like an exciting opportunity.”

“Located in the heart of King’s Cross, Gasholders London is part of the city’s most vibrant community. The area has long been associated with artistry, design, and culture, and Roksanda was the perfect fit for continuing this creative legacy,” Rachele adds.

While Gasholders London showcases the juxtaposition between old and new, many contemporary amenities are available to residents—including a private gym, spa, screening room, and business lounge.

The Penthouse itself spans three floors and features a staircase with direct access to a private roof garden. Currently seeking a new owner, the apartment is available fully furnished. The space will be open to tour during London Design Festival from September 18 through September 22, and tickets are available here.

The Penthouse at Gasholders London, King's Cross is available to purchase fully furnished for £7,750,000 (approximately $9,550,712 USD).
