The kitchen door leads directly to the back easement garden. "We're always working on it," says Maureen.  It used to be a patch of dirt, but the couple opted to cover it over and create a container garden.  "Every year we change it a little. It's almost like a living room." The kitchen door leads directly to the back garden. Originally, the lane was a cart path for coal delivery, and while the lane is now a public easement, Maureen says it feels very private and that she and Timothy use it "almost like a living room."
