Before & After: A Convoluted Midcentury in Texas Gets a Family-Friendly Overhaul

Before: In 2018, Blake and Rob Eagle bought this midcentury home in their shared hometown of Abilene, Texas—in the very neighborhood where they grew up, and where their families still live. At the time, the exterior had several different finishes, including brick, stained wood, and painted wood, and many of the windows were quite small. The couple’s remodel preserved the footprint and basic shape of the house while tweaking the floor plan.
