One of the main challenges of using CLT panels for the construction was how to treat the exterior, as the material is not intended to be exposed to the elements. "We had to do a lot of research to find an industrial paint that could enter the pores of the wood and protect it from rain and UV but also allow it to breathe," explains architect Cristian Stefanescu. "We ended up using a water-based industrial paint from Finland that is most often used in marinas."
