Whit Preston grew up in Honolulu and studied photography at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Since graduating, he has pursued both commercial photography and fine art, working for 11 years in Los Angeles, spending nearly 6 years of that working in-house for the architect Frank O. Gehry as the full time photographer. Prior to moving to Austin, he worked for 4 years in New Zealand, photographing for various magazines and clients.

He currently lives in Austin, TX.
