A Danish artist filled the wooden wonder with handcrafted details and hygge vibes—and it comes with a studio and a tree house.

The annex "lanai" opens up to the deck for indoor/outdoor living.

Not only was extra living space necessary for the growing family of four, but the existing house also failed to take advantage of the striking views that drew the couple to the site. The homeowners tapped architect Malcolm Davis of San Francisco–based Malcolm Davis Architecture to redesign and expand the dwelling without damaging the many established oak trees.

Wrapped in glass on three sides, the Woodnest tree houses offer panoramic views of the surroundings mountains and fjord.

The bathroom, adjacent to the kitchen, features a pale blue exterior wall that ties it to the kitchen area. A mirrored panel on the inside of the door reflects space and light, creating a feeling of spaciousness.

On one side of the tree house, windows and screens open to an unrestricted view.

Stairs bend through a pair of redwoods to connect the outdoor decks to the interior of the house.
