This sofa, the Pillo by Willo Perron, was strikingly unstructured compared with Knoll’s regular fare. And for that we were grateful. Pretty much a stack of soft pillows, it made for the perfect place to get off our feet, having done about 9,000 steps, or four-and-a-half miles. Its shapelessness paired well with a couple of Barcelona chairs.
The couple took advantage of numerous municipal programs when landscaping the backyard. Mandy recently completed a free course through LADWP, who also promotes resources for the SoCal Turf Replacement Program, to become a certified California Native Plant Landscape: “There is an amazing amount of knowledge and resources for transitioning yards with more native/drought-tolerant plants through LADWP and the Theodore Payne Foundation,” says Mandy.
The renovated kitchen is open, airy, and connected to the rest of the main level. Plum Projects used Bedrosians Magnifica Luxe polished white porcelain for the island, countertops, and backsplash. The black upper cabinets are made from Richlite: a durable, sustainable material made from recycled paper.
